LMFF 2010 - Day 2 Guests - L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival
March 21, 2010, related News Article: MTV diva Ruby Rose may well be attempting to be Gen Y's answer to the famously private, publicity-shy screen star Greta Garbo.
Only problem with that strategy is that Rose keeps changing her hair colour, either to get attention or because she has a low boredom threshold for personal grooming.
She also has a penchant for A-list events that are positively awash with photographers.
On Monday night, she was at it again at Myer's autumn/winter collection launch in Melbourne.
Too precious to walk the red carpet like so many bigger stars, she even looked faintly twitchy at the Siberian end of the front row, where she had been placed.
No doubt she was scared someone would pounce on her and ask her about her model fianc aace, Catherine McNeil (that would be the one she was init- ially snapped pashing in public).
In complete contrast, the new Oz rock 'n' roll royals, ex-model twins Mim and Liv Nervo (the songwriters/DJs/producers worked with Rihanna the week before and are moving on to Kylie Minogue), were ready to engage with all and sundry from their perch, front and centre of Row A. So refreshing.
Even fashion bloggers are turning against Rose. Ohjamiee.blogspot.com had this to say, when he spotted her at a fashion event the following night: "Ruby Rose was not ... in my opinion, dressed for the front row. A blue Dangerfield-like dress, devil's horns on her head and blue hair to match the dress; it just wasn't working for me." Oh dear.
Now, if only Ruby Rose could develop her other talents to go with that attitude.
