Australia’s Hottest Tradies FINAL

Related News, Feb 17, 2010: KELLYVILLE officially has the state’s hottest tradesman with carpenter Matt Wilson winning the NSW crown of RSVP’s Hottest Tradie competition last week.

He beat four other buff tradies when he was announced the winner at The Argyle in Sydney last Wednesday.

“I definitely wasn’t expecting it, it was really exciting,” Wilson said.

“I didn’t think I’d win so when they called my name it didn’t register in my brain for a couple of seconds.”

Wilson scored himself a bunch of prizes, including a three months’ supply of Carlton beer, a $600 King Gee voucher and $750 G-Shock watch.

“The biggest shock was seeing how many people were there,” he said.

Included in the crowd were his mother and girlfriend, both of whom were very proud of his win.

“I’m sure my girlfriend was partly hoping it would be over soon,” Wilson said.

“She watched me as I had to have about 50 photos with girls on the night.”

He is now in the running to be crowned Australia’s hottest tradie and take home a Toyota Hilux Ute.

“I’ve gone from a one-in-25 chance to a one-in-five chance now, just one more to go,” Wilson said. “I’ve seen some of the other guys and I do have a lot to match up against.”

The grand final event for Australia’s Hottest Tradie will be held at The Ivy in Sydney on February 24. The winner will be based on voting, which has now closed, from the competition website.
